🔐The Sleepy Kangaroos is building their entire project around security and trust for all holders and members of the community. This value has guided their decisions for how the NFT assets will be store

The Sleepy Kangaroo NFTs will be stored in an entirely decentralised manner once the project has sold out and all assets can be stored without the possibility of trait-sniping. This will be achieved using both IPFS and Arweave.

Metadata

IPFS will be used to pin all metadata. This will be referenced from the smart contract's tokenURI() function.

Image Assets

Opting for a more robust and permanent solution, all Sleepy Kangaroo image files will be uploaded to the Arweave blockchain, and referenced from the metadata. This will permanently store each image to the blockchain, and give collectors confidence that they truly own their NFT.

We are investigating the option of also providing a backup of each file on IPFS.

Trait Sniping

The Sleepy Kangaroos founder have worked hard to ensure fairness throughout the mint, including the asset storage process. Each Sleepy Kangaroo NFT asset and metadata will be uploaded upon mint, which means each of their traits and rarities can not be sniped, or any unfairness caused on this front during the mint. Once the project has sold out, all stored metadata files will be pinned to IPFS.
